PSE index rebounds, MerryMart up for 2nd day

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) rebounded from Monday's steep decline on Tuesday.

The PSE index closed at 6,281.75, up 117.93. In the broader market, there were 141 gainers, 54 losers and 46 unchanged.

Merry Mart Consumer Corp., listed at the PSE on Monday gained 75 centavos to end at P2.25 on volume of 141,859,000 worth P301,217,460.

Volume reached 968.67 million shares worth P6.99 billion from Monday's 1.01 billion shares valued at P7.76 billion.

Most active shares were led by Ayala Corp., up 25 centavos to P775; Ayala Land, up 10 centavos to P35.90 and Emperador Inc., up five centavos to P7.95. DMS
