PSE index rebounds, peso at P49.90 vs US dollar

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index rebounded from Friday's decline on Monday.
The peso settled at P49.90 against the US dollar from Friday's P49.80. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $651.3 million from Friday's $1.011 billion.
The PSE index closed 48.87 points higher to end at 6,514 points. In the broader market, there were 157 gainers, 58 losers and 35 unchanged.
Volume reached 1.18 billion shares worth P9.63 billion from Friday's 946.66 million shares valued at P9.11 billion.
Most active shares were led by GT Capital, up P32.50 to P512.50; BDO, down P7 to P107, SM Prime, up 50 centavos to P33.40 and PLDT, down P40 to P1,140. DMS
