PSE index rebounds

The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index rebounded from Monday's decline by ending 59.58 points to 5,775.50.
In the broader market, there were 136 gainers, 53 losers and 46 unchanged.
Volume reached 1.6 billion worth P5.74 billion from Monday's 1.63 billion shares valued at P6.59 billion.
Most active shares were led by Universal Robina Corp., up P5.50 to P130.50; SM Prime, down 10 centavos to P28.45; PLDT, up P20 to P1,337 and SM Investment Corp., up P5 to P865.
The peso closed at P49.14 against the US dollar from P49.095. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $470.35 million from $568.65 million on Monday. DMS
