PSE index reduces losses, ends at 6,088.75

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index ended the day just above the vital 6,000-point mark Friday.
Down by 110 points in the morning session, the index cut losses to finish at 6,088.75,down 58.91 points. In the broader market, there were 123 losers, 69 gainers and 44 unchanged.
Volume reached 1.84 billion shares worth P4,12 billion from Thursday's 4.8 billion shares valued at P4.41 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Investment Corp., down P13 to P920; Ayala Land, down P1.20 to P31.70 and SM Prime, down P1.50 to P31.20.
The peso settled at P49.44 against the US dollar from P49.535 on Thursday.Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $687.8 million from $768.49 million on Thursday. DMS
