PSE index reverses course to end higher

The main Philippine share market closed higher after being lower during most of the session on Thursday.
The peso ended at P50.50 against the US dollar from Wednesday's P50.57. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.106 billion from $813.67 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index gained 20.27 points to P7,403.12. In the broader market, there were 124 losers, 64 gainers and 43 unchanged.
Volume reached 978.23 million shares worth from P4.77 billion from Wednesday's 1.314 million valued at P6.07 billion.
Most active shares were led by Universal Robina Corp., down P2 to P149; BPI, up 60 centavos to P87 and SM Prime, down five centavos to P42.25. DMS
