PSE index slightly up, peso advances vs US dollar

The main Philippine share index finished slightly higher but the peso advanced against the US dollar on Monday.
The peso closed at P51.295 from Friday's P51.42, Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.036 billion from $1.291 billion on the previous day.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index settled at 7,891.13 points, up 5.90 points. In the broader market, there were 98 losers, 86 gainers and 59 unchanged.
Volume reached 403.79 million shares worth P 3.35 billion from Friday's 830.78 million valued at P5.47 billion.
Most active shares were led by ICTSI, up P1.30 to P123; Ayala Land, down 15 centavos to P48.85 and SM Prime, down 70 centavos to P38.05. DMS
