PSE index up, peso ends at P50.32 vs US dollar

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index ended higher on Monday.
The peso finished at P50.32 against the US dollar from P50.61 on Friday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $699.75 million from Friday's $633.93 million.
The PSE index settled at 5,930.17 points, up 91.33 points. In the broader market, there were 127 gainers, 63 losers and 37 unchanged.
Volume reached 820.04 million shares valued at P6.98 billion from Friday's 1.97 billion shares worth P20.39 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Investment Corp., up P5.00 to P920; GTCapital, down P11 to P376 and Security Bank,up P7.30 to P89 and Ayala Corp., down P2.50 to P745. DMS
