PSEi ends higher, peso at P48.40:$1

The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) ended the trading month of October higher on Friday.
The PSEi gained 74.61 points to close at 6,324 points. In the broader market, there were 135 winners, 81 losers and 37 unchanged.
Converge Information and Communications Technology Solutions, Inc., was the most actively traded stock, down 38 centavos to P14.78. It drew 47,400,700 shares worth P707,341,938.
Converge debuted at the PSE on Monday. It was the exchange's second biggest initial public offering.
Other most actively traded stocks were BDO, down 10 centavos to P 88.90; Dito CME Holdings, up five centavos to P6.82 and ICTSI, up 50 centavos to P115.
Volume reached 6.49 billion shares worth P8.02 billion from Thursday's 3.36 billion shares valued at P6.7 billion.
The peso closed at P48.40 against the US dollar from P48.39 on Thursday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $817.4 million from $524.15 million. DMS
