PSEi up 22.63 points, peso at P48.485:$1

The Philippine Stock Exchange index ( PSEi) gained 22.63 points to end at 5,864.23 on Wednesday, but the broader market was lower with 98 losers, 91 gainers and 49 unchanged.
Volume reached 1.07 billion shares worth P5.48 billion from Tuesday's 1.45 billion shares valued at P5.67 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Prime, up 90 centavos to P29.40; Dito CME Holdings, down 9 centavos to P4.90; PLDT, down P14 to P1,339 and SM Investment Corp., unchanged at P880.
The peso closed at P48.495 against the US dollar from P48.50 on Tuesday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $726.57 million from Tuesday's $536.21 million. DMS
