PSEi up, but broader market shows decline

The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) ended 19.79 points lower to 5,841.60 points on Tuesday.
But in the broader market, there were 109 losers, 88 gainers and 52 unchanged,
Volume reached 1.45 billion shares worth P5.67 billion from Monday's 1.14 billion shares valued at P5.08 billion.
Most active shares were led by Dito CME Holdings, up 50 centavos to P4.99; Metrobank, up 50 centavos to P38.75; BDO, up five centavos to P86.50 and Jollibee Food Corp., up P5.70 to P144.80.
The peso closed at P48.50 against the US dollar from P48.51 on Monday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $536.21 million from Monday's $490.35 million. DMS
