San Miguel entering stock brokerage business

San Miguel Corp. will enter the stock brokerage business as its stock transfer unit will establish a 100 percent owned subsidiary, the firm said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Tuesday. The stock transfer firm is called SMC Stock Transfer Service Corporation, which is wholly owned by San Miguel Corp. This was decided at the regular meeting of the board of directors of San Miguel Corp., said Ferdinand Constantino, corporate information officer of San Miguel Corp. The stock brokerage company shall acquire an existing trading right to participate in the trading of listed securities in the Philippine Stock Exchange, said Constantino. DMS
