San Miguel submits unsolicited proposal to extend TPLEX

The infrastructure arm of San Miguel Corp. has submitted an unsolicited proposal to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to extend the existing Tarlac-Pangasinan- La Union Expressway (TPLEX) up to San Juan in La Union from Rosario for P23.95 billion.

San Miguel Holdings Corp. said Wednesday the project involves a 59.4 km four-lane toll road which will start from the last exit of the TPLEX in Rosario, La Union and will terminate at San Juan, La Union.

The first segment is an 18 kilometers road, which runs from Rosario to Tubao, while the second segment is a 23 kilometers expressway from Tubao to Naguilian and the last segment is an 18.4 km from Naguilian to San Juan.

San Miguel’s unsolicited proposal was submitted to DPWH last February and subject for evaluation by DPWH .

San Miguel-led Private Infra Dev Corp. holds the concession for TPLEx, an 88.85-km, four-lane, high-speed toll road that connects Northern Luzon to Manila. It is designed to integrate with other major toll roads such as North Luzon Expressway and Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway. DMS
