Stock index declines but peso ends at P53.095:$1

Stocks ended the month of July lower on Tuesday after the main share index rallied past 7,500 points in the last few days.
The peso closed at P53.095 against the US dollar from Monday's P53.19. Volume reached $670.81 million from $664.5 million in the previous day.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index closed at 7,672 points, up 101.32 points. In the broader market, there were 130 decliners, 63 gainers and 52 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 842.02 million shares worth P7.05 billion from Monday's 1.02 billion valued at P5.6 billion. Foreigners remained net buyers, with P4.4 billion bought while selling reached P4.5 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, down 3.2 percent to P40.85; BDO Unibank, down 1.49 percent to P132 and GT Capital, down 2.41 percent to P970.90. DMS
