Stock index down by more than 2%, peso at P51.7:$1

Philippine stocks fell on Thursday, with the main share index declining more than two percent.
But the peso gained 21 centavos to P51.70 against the US dollar. Volume reached $1.450 billion from $1.147 billion on Wednesday at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index finished at 7,705.19, down 183.63 points. In the broader market, there were 142 decliners, 56 gainers while there are 43 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 2.85 billion shares valued at P17.6 billion from Wednesday's 1.9 billion shares worth P7.43 billion.
Most active shares were led by ICTSI, down 2.77 percent to P116; Ayala Land, down 1.44 percent to P44 and Metrobank, down 1.94 percent to P76. DMS
