Stock index flat, peso rallies to P52.49:$1

Stocks finished flat on Monday, as the Philippine Stock Exchange index finished 4.61 points lower to 7,642.90.
In the broader market, there were 129 decliners, 74 gainers and 38 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 501.9 million shares worth P5.39 billion from Friday's 604.76 million shares valued at P5.1 billion. Foreigners were net sellers, with P2.46 billion while buying was at P2.04 billion.
Most traded shares were led by Metrobank, 0.43 percent down to P81.65; Now Corp., up 8.38 percent to P11.64; SM Prime, unchanged at P38 and PLDT, down 6.16 percent to P1,295.
The peso closed at P52.r49 against the US dollar from P52.70 on Friday. Volume at the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $637.4 million from the previous trade of $719 million. DMS
