Stock market ends mixed

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) ended mixed on Tuesday even as MerryMart continued to be the most active stock.
The peso closed to P50.19 against the US dollar from P50.14 on Monday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $891.8 million from $456.96 million.
The PSE index closed 49.65 points lower at 6,297.78. In the broader market, there were 103 gainers, 98 losers and 45 unchanged.
Volume rose to 1.31 billion shares worth P7.31 billion from Monday's 1.21 billion shares valued at P7.33 billion.
Most active shares were led MerryMart, up 11 centavos to P3.71; Dito CME, down two centavos to P3.71; Emperador, up one centavo to P8.01 and SM Investment Corp., down P25 to P935. DMS
