Stocks close lower

Stocks ended the week lower as the main index finished below 8,500 points on Friday.
The Philippine Stock Exchange Index closed 84.33 points lower to 8,433.48. In the broader market, there were 134 decliners, 73 gainers and 44 issues unchanged.
Volume reached 1.17 billion shares worth P7.53 billion. Foreigners were net sellers, unloading P4.16 billion and buying P3.94 billion.
Most actively traded shares were led by BDO Unibank, up 1.79 percent to P147.60; SM Prime Holdimgs, down 3.50 percent to P36.60 and Semirara Mining and Power Corp, down 0.52 percent to P38.30.
The peso closed at P51.245 against the US dollar from P51.27. Volume at the Philippine Dealing System reached $732.90 million from $614.90 million on Thursday. DMS
