Stocks close week higher

Stocks ended the week higher on Friday, as the main index finished above one percent.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index closed 104.64 points higher, or 1.27 percent, to 8,311.08. In the broader market, there were 98 gainers, 91 decliners and 56 unchanged.
Volume reached 7.28 billion shares worth P5.63 billion. Foreigners were net buyers with P3.16 billion worth of stocks bought compared to selling worth P2.96 billion.
Among most active shares were Meralco, up 1.07 percent to P322 and BDO Unibank, up 0.07 percent to P146.20.
The peso closed at P50.95 against the US dollar from P50.90 on Thursday. Volume at the Philippine Dealing System reached $719.60 million from $885.10 million. DMS
