Stocks decline, peso at P51.04:$1

Stocks lost ground on Wednesday, with the Philippine Stock Exchange index closing 106.20 points lower to 8,273.44.
In the broader market, there were 109 decliners, 76 gainers and 43 issues unchanged.
Volume reached 1.42 billion worth P5.9 billion. Foreigners were net sellers, unloading P3.46 billion worth of shares while buying P2.81 billion.
Among most active shares were Metro Pacific, up 0.15 percent to P6.75; Puregold Price Club, down 1.02 percent to P48.60 and Meralco, down 0.93 percent to P319.
The peso improved to P51.04 against the US dollar from P51.18. Volume at the Philippine Dealing System reached $566.80 million from $476.80 million on Tuesday. DMS
