Stocks decline, peso rallies

Philippine stocks declined on Monday, as the main index hovered just above the key 7,500 point mark.
The peso closed at P53.38 against the US dollar from P53.425 on Friday. Volume at the foreign exchange market reached $424.35 million from the previous session's $581.88 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index finished at 7,500.53, down 82.99 points. In the broader market, there were 115 decliners, 85 gainers and 40 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 1.417 billion worth P5.4 billion from Friday's 1.16 billion valued at P5.5 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, down 0.71 percent to P42.20; SM Investment Corp., down 1.02 percent to P918 and SM Prime, up 0.28 percent to P36.10. DMS
