Stocks down, peso gains

Stocks closed lower as the Philippine Stock Exchange index finished 17.18 points down to end at 7,998.75.
In the broader market, there were 99 gainers, 88 decliners and 59 unchanged.
Volume reached 762.82 million worth P5.7 billion. Foreigners were net sellers, selling P3.39 billion while buying P3.06 billion.
International Container Terminal Services Inc led the most active shares as it declined 0.47 percent to P105.50.
The peso closed at P51.22 against the US dollar, up by two centavos from Tuesday. Volume rose to $949.10 million from the previous day's $569.20 million. DMS
