Stocks down slightly, peso ends a hit higher

Philippine stocks continued its downward trek, as the main index ended lower on Thursday.
The peso gained slightly at the US dollar as it closed at P53.44, .03 centavos higher than the previous day. Volume at the foreign exchange market rose to $844.1 million from Wednesday's $ 585.9 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index closed at 7,517.36, down 23.56 points. In the broader market, there were 108 decliners, 91 gainers and 49 shares unchanged.
Volume amounted to 1.06 billion worth P5,4 billion from Wednesday's 1.97 billion valued at P5.12 billion. Foreigners were net sellers, unloading P2.72 billion compared to buying of P1.84 billion,
Most active shares were led by Puregold, down 0.23 percent to P44; GT Capital, down 2.31 percent to P889; Jollibee, down 2.63 percent to P266.80 and BDO, up 1.94 percent to P131.20. DMS
