Stocks end flat, peso at P53.4:$1

Stocks closed flat on Monday, with the Philippine Stock Exchange index retreating 0.09 points to 7,186.62.
In the broader market, there were 105 decliners, 81 gainers and 49 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 606.5 million shares worth P3.38 billion down from Friday's 843.7 million shares valued at P4.86 billion, Foreigners were net sellers, with P1.83 billion of stocks sold compared to P1.1 billion bought.
Most active shares were led by Metrobank, down 2.7 percent to P67.85; Ayala Land, up 0.82 percent to P37 and Jollibee, down 2.39 percent to P245.
The peso closed at P53.4 against the US dollar from P53.42 on Friday. Volume at the Philippine Dealing System reached $620.2 million from the previous session's $506.50 million. DMS
