Stocks end lower

Stocks ended lower on Monday as the Philippine Stock Exchange index finished 36.54 points down to 8,244.73.
In the broader market, there were 109 decliners, 93 gainers and 47 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 1.59 billion shares worth P6.76 billion Foreigners were net buyers by a slim margin, with P2.82 billion worth of stocks bought and P2.81 billion sold.
Among most actively traded issues were Concepcion Industries, up 0.23 percent to P64.65, PXP Energy Corp., up 27.87 percent to P9.91, Energy Dev, Corp., up 15.13 percent to P 9,91 and Apex Mining, up 28.65 percent to P2.20.
The peso closed at P50.71 against the US dollar from P50.725 on Friday. Volume reached $788.70 million from $973.80 million. DMS
