Stocks end lower

Stocks declined on Monday, with the Philippine Stock Exchange index finishing at 8,348.32 down 72.63 points.In the broader market, there were 111 decliners, 90 gainers and 37 unchanged. Volume reached 744 million shares worth P13.293 billion. Foreigners were net buyers, purchasing P10.34 billion and selling P2.77 billion. Among most traded shares were Ayala Land, up 1.74 percent to P43.90, Ayala Corp. down 4.95 percent to P1,017, SM Prime down 0.96 percent to p36.15 and Jollibee Corp., down 1.22 percent to P249. The peso closed at P51.51 against the US dollar from P 51.45 on Friday. Volume at the Philippine Dealing System reached $439 million from $530.10 million. DMS
