Stocks end mixed, peso closes at P48.92:$1

The Philippine stock market ended mixed on Tuesday as index shares ended lower while the broader market showed gains.
The peso closed at P48.92 against the US dollar from P49.01 on Monday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $743.4 million from Monday's $409.3 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index closed at 5953.04 up 23.02. But in the broader market there were 115 gainers, 84 losers and 38 unchanged.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, down 60 centavos to P32.60; SM Investment Corp. down P4 to P858; BDO, down 50 centavos to P88.50 and BPI, down P1.05 to P61.
Volume reached 5.31 billion shares valued at P5.07 billion from Tuesday's 82.95 billion shares worth P4.88 billion. DMS
