Stocks end slightly higher but peso declines

Philippine stocks ended the week slightly higher but the peso ended lower on Friday.
The peso ended at P53.475 against the US dollar from Thursday's P53.43. Volume at the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $383.85 million from the previous session's $501.29 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index closed at 7,855.21 points, up 2.55 points. In the broader market, there were 91 gainers, 107 decliners and 46 unchanged.
Volume settled at 1.08 billion shares worth P8.02 billion from Thursday's 1.25 billion shares valued at P6.32 billion.
Most traded shares were led by Metrobank, down 1.21 percent to P73.25; Ayala Land, down 0.45 percent to P44.50 and San Miguel Food and Beverage, up 5.32 percent to P99. DMS
