Stocks end slightly lower, peso at P52.24:$1

Stocks ended slightly lower Monday as the market waited for news that could spur trading.
The Philippine Stock Exchange closed at 7,719.47, down 7.25 points. In the broader market, there were 103 decliners, 88 gainers and 57 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 1.04 billion shares worth P5.48 billion from Friday's 725.9 million shares valued at P6.7 billion. Foreigners were net sellers, with P3.4 billion sold and P3.098 billion bought.
Most traded shares were Robinson's Land, down 4.92 percent to P18.16; Metro Pacific, down 3.45 percent to P4.48 and Banco de Oro, 2.31 percent to P130.90.
The peso closed at P52.24 against the US dollar from P52.095. Volume at the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $757.2 million from Friday's $329.5 million. DMS
