Stocks finish higher

Stocks finished higher despite losing steam in later trading on Friday.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index ended 44.48 points up to 7,726.72. In the broader market, there were 120 gainers, 83 decliners and 41 shares unchanged.
Volume amounted to a low 725.9 million worth P6.7 billion from Thursday's 1.82 billion valued at P11.76 billion. Foreigners were net sellers, with P4.38 billion sold and P3.99 billion bought.
Most active shares were led by Banco de Oro, up 0.30 percent to P134; Ayala Land, up 2.49 percent to P41.10 and Alliance Global, down 2.67 percent to P13.14.
The peso closed at P52.095 against the US dollar from P52.10 on Thursday. Volume at the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $329.5 million from $654.45 million. DMS
