Stocks finish lower, peso gains

Stocks ended Friday lower after setting all-time highs earlier this week.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index finished 66.42 points lower to 8,420.95. In the broader market, there were 124 decliners, 72 gainers and 49 issues unchanged.
Volume reached P5.26 billion worth P10.17 billion. Foreigners were net sellers, unloading P7.21 billion worth of shares compared to buying P5.26 billion of stocks.
Most actively traded stocks were led by Ayala Corp., down 4.12 percent to P1,070; BDO Unibank, down 2.72 percent to P143 and Universal Robina Corp., down 2.21 percent to P137.
The peso closed at P51.45 against the US dollar from P51.53 on Thursday. Volume at the Philippine Dealing System reached $530.10 million from $565.70 million on the previous day. DMS
