Stocks flat, peso at P50.87 against US dollar

Stocks ended flat as the Philippine Stock Exchange index closed 0.22 points higher at 8,022.75 points on Friday.
In the broader market, there were 114 gainers, 77 decliners and 55 unchanged. Volume reached 1.55 billion shares valued at P7.89 billion.
Foreigners bought P4.36 billion shares while selling P4.38 billion worth of stocks.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, up 0.70 percent to P43.20 and Metro Pacific, up 1.35 percent to P6.76
The peso gained anew, ending at P50.87 against the US dollar after hitting a high of P50.675 in intraday trading. The Philippine currency finished at P50.93 on Thursday.
Volume at the Philippine Dealing System was a high $1,19 billion from the previous day's $613.80 million. DMS
