Stocks flat, peso ends lower

Stocks ended flat on Wednesday after the key index lost as much as 35 points at one point,
The Philippine Stock Exchange index closed 7,985.83 points, down 0.68 points. In the broader market, there were 133 decliners, 66 gainers and 45 unchanged.
Volume reached 1.16 billion shares worth P6.93 billion. Foreigners were net buyers with P2.91 billion worth of purchases compared to selling of P2.57 billion.
Among most active shares were Chelsea Logistics, which debuted on Tuesday. It shed off 4.92 percent to end at P10.04, D&L Industries was down 8.89 percent to P10.66 and International Container Terminal Services ended at P103.30, down 1.81 percent.
The peso lost ground, finishing at P50.575 from P50.44 against the US dollar. Volume at the Philippine Dealing System went up to $631.50 million from $457.90 million. DMS
