Stocks gain, peso at P50.355:$1

Stocks ended higher on Monday but the key index fell short of returning to the key level.
The peso closed lower at P50.355 against the US dollar from P50.16 on Friday. Volume reached $428.90 million from the previous $631.30 million at the Philippine Dealing System.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index gained 59.45 points to 7,992.27. But in the broader market, there were 99 decliners, 88 gainers and 59 unchanged.
Volume reached 1.4 billion shares worth P4.88. Foreigners were net sellers with P2.2 billion sold and P2.15 billion bought.
Most active shares were led by BDO, up 1.18 percent to P129 and Universal Robina Corp., down 0.53 percent to P151.50. DMS
