Stocks gain, peso at P52.32:$1

Stocks gained on Tuesday as the Philippine Stock Exchange index surged 114.65 points to end at 8,047.03.
In the broader market, there were 148 gainers, 64 decliners and 33 shares unchanged.
Volume rose to 2.92 billion shares worth P6.55 billion from Monday's 1.75 billion valued at P6.33 billion. Foreigners were net sellers, unloading P3.55 billion and buying P2.84 billion.
Most actively traded shares were led by Ayala Land, up 2.49 percent to P41.10; Metrobank, up 3.37 percent to P85.80; Banco de Oro Unibank, up 1.45 percent to P140 and Now Corp.,m up 14.60 percent to P7.80.
The peso closed at P52.32 against the US dollar from P52.215. Volume at the Philippine Dealing System reached $718.90 million from Monday's $690.90 million. DMS
