Stocks lose ground after Wednesday’s advance

Stocks declined in midday trading on Thursday a day after the main index surged.

The Philippine Stock Exchange index was down 30.78 points to lie at 6,815.66 points at the lunchtime break. Services was the only subsector which increased with a 2.97 point gain to 1,293.44

The peso’s weighted average at the noon break was P49.80 against the US dollar after hitting a low of P49.815. Volume at the Philippine Dealing System was $147.40 million. DMS
