Stocks lower, peso at P51.92:$1

Stocks ended lower on Thursday, as the Philippine Stock Exchange index settled at 8,465.77, down 9.52 points on the first trading day of March.
In the broader market, there were 110 decliners, 84 gainers and 49 issues unchanged.
Volume reached 6.9 billion shares worth P7.6 billion from Wednesday's 16.9 billion valued at p9.97 billion. Foreigners were net sellers, unloading P3.02 billion and buying P2.46 billion.
Most traded shares were led by MRC Allied, down 9.88 percent to 73 centavos; Ayala Land, up 2.68 percent to P42.20; PXP Energy Corp., down 13.85 percent to P15.80 and JG Summit, down 5.42 percent to P68.10.
The peso closed at P51.92 against the US dollar from P52.10 on Wednesday. Volume at the Philippine Dealing System reached $863,50 million from $652.10 million on the previous day. DMS
