Stocks lower, peso rallies

Stocks ended lower on Thursday, the last trading day of the month.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index finished at 7,497.17, down 27.03 points. In the broader market, there were 102 gainers, 101 decliners and 41 shares unchanged.
The peso closed at P52.52 against the US dollar from Wednesday's P52.60. Volume at the Bankers Association of the Philippines went up to $886.88 million from Wednesday's $686.1 million.
Volume reached 820.1 million shares valued at P17.2 billion from Wednesday's 920 million shares worth P7.36 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Prime, unchanged at P37; Ayala Land, down 1.02 percent to P39.80; Aboitiz Equity Ventures, down 2.78 percent to P57.80 and BDO Unibank, up 1.95 percent to P130.50. DMS
