Stocks, peso end lower

Stocks finished lower on Friday but finished the week higher.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index closed at 7,740.74 points, down 62.67 but week-on-week the index was up 1.45 percent.
In the broader market, there were 116 decliners, 83 gainers and 41 issues unchanged.
Volume reached 862.44 million shares valued at P5.28 billion from Thursday's 1.4 billion shares valued at P6.4 billion. Foreigners were net sellers at P3.32 billion compared to huying P2.64 billion worth of shares.
Most traded shares were led by Ayala Corp., down 1.43 percent to P966.50; Metrobank, down 3.09 percent to P80 and GT Capital Holdings, down 1.67 percent to P1,000.
The peso declined to P52.7 against the US dollar from P52.49. Volume at the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $724.2 million from $457.4 million Thursday. DMS
