Stocks, peso end week higher

Philippine stocks bounced back on Friday, as the main share index closed nearly one percent higher.
The Philippine peso rallied slightly to end at P53.425 against the US dollar from Thursday's P53.44. Volume at the foreign exchange market reached $581.88 million from $844.1 million in the previous day.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index ended at 7,583.52, up 66.16 points. But in the broader market, there were 98 decliners, 91 gainers and 58 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 1.16 billion valued P5.5 billion from Thursday's 1.06 billion worth P5.4 billion. Foreigners were net sellers with P3.045 billion while buying was at P2.144 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Prime, up 1.69 percent to P36; BPI, down 3.56 percent to P89.50 and SM Investment Corp., down 0.37 percent to P927.50. DMS
