Stocks, peso gain

Philippine stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the main stock index finishing one percent.
The peso closed at P53.325 against the US dollar from Friday's P53.465. Volume reached $640.85 million from the previous trading of $421.05.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index ended at 7,844.61 points, up 78.14. In the broader market, there were 112 gainers, 94 decliners and 38 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 1.55 billion shares worth P7.65 billion from Friday's 2.27 billion shares valued at P7.22 billion.
Most traded shares were led by Ayala Land, up 0.23 percent to P44; International Container Terminal Services, up 2.8 percent to P95.15; SM Investment Corp., 2.32 percent to P970 and BDO Unibank, up 2.19 percent to P130.80. DMS
