Stocks rally as PSE index remains above 8,000 points

Stocks rallied Tuesday after the key index slipped by 35 points at the noonday trading break as the Philippine Stock Exchange gained 14.15 points to 8,049.35.
In the broader market, there were 103 decliners, 87 gainers and 55 unchanged.
Volume reached 2.21 billion shares worth P5.84 billion. Foreigners were net sellers, with P3.19 billion sold and P3.07 billion bought.
Among the most active shares were Nickel Asia, up 4.44 percent to P7.99, Jollibee up 2.52 percent to P244 and Megaworld, up 2 percent to P5.06.
The peso closed at P51.14 against the US dollar from Monday's P51.165. Volume at the Philippine Dealing System reached $511 million from P428.65 million on the previous day. DMS
