Stocks retreat from record close

Stocks ended lower on Wednesday, ending two days of record setting finishes by the Philippine Stockj Exchange index. The index closed 39.87 points lower to 8,358.47. In the broader market, there were 97 decliners, 90 gainers and 56 shares unchanged. Volume reached 894 million shares worth P11.626 billion. Among most active shares were Ayala Land, down 1.85 percent to P42.80, BDO Unibank up 2.49 percent to P139.60 and Universal Robina Corp., down 3.87 percent to P144. DMS
