Stocks slightly higher, peso declines

Stocks rose slightly on Tuesday, as the Philippine Stock Exchange index closed 24.51 points higher to 8,334.06.
In the broader market, there were 115 decliners, 87 gainers and 52 unchanged.
Volume reached 638.3 million shares worth P6.6 billion. Foreign selling and buying were equal for the second straight session, with P3.72 billion and P3.72 billion sold.
Most traded shares were led by Ayala Land, up 1.49 percent to P44.15; SM prime, up 0.14 percent to P36.85 and Jollibee, up 0.16 percent to p249.40.
The peso declined by 15 centavos to close at P50.51 against the US dollar. Volume at the Philippine Dealing System reached $665.60 million from $509 million. DMS
