Stocks slightly up, peso at P51.86:$1

The Philippine Stock Exchange index gained slightly but the broader was still down on Monday.
The index closed at 8,499.98, up 32.42 points. In the broader market, there were 112 decliners, 105 gainers and 43 issues unchanged.
Volume amounted to 4.81 billion shares valued at P9.89 billion from Friday's 3.26 billion shares worth P9.24 billion. Foreign selling reached P4.24 billion while foreign buying amounted to P2.71 billion.
Most traded shares were MRC Allied, up 24.14 percent to 72 centavos; Ayala Land, down 3.19 percent to P42.50; Now Corp, down 12.74 percent to P13.70; BDO Unibank, up 2.04 percent to P150 and Jollibee, up 3.55 percent to P292.
The peso closed at P51.86 against the US dollar from P51.89 on Friday. Volume at the Philippine Dealing System amounted to $516 million from $656.30 million. DMS
