Stocks up, but peso ends at P53.51:$1

Stocks ended the week higher on Friday but the peso declined slightly against the US dollar as it neared a 12-year-low.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) Index settled at 7,399.18 points, up 48.60. In the broader market, there were 103 gainers, 91 decliners and 46 unchanged.
The Philippine peso closed at P53.51 against the greenback from P53.50 on Thursday. Volume reached $397 million from $595.3 million.
Turnover at the PSE amounted to 1.49 billion shares valued at P5.46 billion from Thursday's 2.13 billion worth P5.5 billion. Foreigners were net sellers, with P2.73 billion sold while P2.7 billion were bought.
Most traded shares were led by Ayala Corp., down 0.21 percent to P964; Transpacific Broadband, down 12.9 percent to 54 centavos, JG Summit, up 3.73 percent to P52.90 and Security Bank, up 2.22 percent to P212. DMS
