Stocks up, peso gains

Philippine stocks gained on Monday, with the key index closing 2.64 percent higher.
The peso closed at P57.57 against the US dollar from P52.715 on Friday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines fetched $561,81 million from $756.6 million on Friday.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index closed at 7,270.26, up 186.92 points. In the broader market, there were 107 gainers, 81 decliners and 49 shares unchanged.
Volume amounted to 1.36 billion shares worth P8.34 billion from Friday's 699.67 million shares valued at P9.91 billion.
Most active shares were led by PXP Energy Corp., 4.87 percent up to P18.984; ISM Communications, up 4.99 percent to P8.20; SM Prime, up 0.77 percent to P32.90 and Ayala Land, up 1.4 percent to P39.90. DMS
