Toyota Releases Lexus ES in Japan

Tokyo- Toyota Motor Corp. on Wednesday released the Lexus ES luxury midsize sedan in Japan.

A system that allows the driver to check the rear view images captured by cameras mounted on the front doors on screens inside the cabin is available as optional equipment for the top-end version of the ES.

It is the world's first mass-produced vehicle model equipped with such a system. The exterior cameras are resistant to raindrops.

The ES is priced at between 5.8 million yen and 6.98 million yen. Only a hybrid version is available.

Toyota aims to sell 350 units a month.
