Toyota to Recall 64,000 Commercial Vehicles in Japan
September 26, 2018
Tokyo- Toyota Motor Corp. informed Japan's transport ministry Wednesday that it will recall a total of 64,656 commercial vehicles in the country for free repairs, due to a lack of strength in a device to reduce the levels of pollutants in exhaust gas.
According to the ministry, the vehicles, manufactured between July 2010 and January 2013, are from four models--the Hiace, the RegiusAce, the Dyna and the ToyoAce.
If a crack appears on the exhaust gas recirculation system due to the insufficient strength, the vehicles may emit exhaust fumes with pollutant levels in excess of the prescribed standards, the ministry said.
A total of 121 related problems have been reported, it said. Jiji Press
