Toyota’s Average Executive Bonus Tops 200 M. Yen

Nagoya- Toyota Motor Corp.'s bonuses for its executive board members for the business year that ended in March average 204 million yen, up 74.0 pct from the year before, it was learned Monday.
According to the Japanese automaker's executive pay plan to be proposed at a general shareholders meeting slated for June 14, bonuses for the six eligible board members total 1,224 million yen, up 30.5 pct.
The bonus increase reflects Toyota's robust earnings in the year that pushed up its group net profit to an all-time high.
On top of this, the average bonus amount swelled as the number of eligible board members fell from eight.
The plan also shows that Toyota will pay a total of 1,917 million yen, up 13.8 pct, to all 12 board members including those who retired in the year and outside directors. Jiji Press
