Xerox CEO Visentin Joins Fuji Xerox Board
June 21, 2018
Tokyo- Xerox Corp. Chief Executive Officer John Visentin on Wednesday joined the board of directors at Fuji Xerox Co., a Tokyo-based subsidiary of Fujifilm Holdings Corp..
The appointment was approved at Fuji Xerox's general shareholders meeting on the day.
Visentin became CEO of the U.S. office equipment maker in mid-May at the request of major shareholders opposing the proposed acquisition of Xerox by Fujifilm Holdings.
It is customary for three Xerox officials, including the CEO, to assume director roles at Fuji Xerox, which is held 25 pct by Xerox and 75 pct by Fujifilm Holdings.
The appointment of Visentin is likely to attract attention as he is close to the Xerox shareholders who oppose the acquisition plan.
Koichi Tamai, former deputy president of Fuji Xerox, was promoted to president of the company. Jiji Press
